Something every S63/N63 owner should check II
I spent months chasing intermittent off the line hesitation and occasional ‘drivetrain malfunction’ message , very seldom i would get multiple misfire code as well, so finally was able to find an issue, thanks to Jamie Showoff on FB f85 forums for mentioning this to me. Hope this helps someone out there because i was lost and replaced a lot of parts chasing this issue |

Interesting find. Was trying to get a grasp on the part location via diagrams / images. This is the part in question?:

Yes correct, very easy to access, i had 2 shops give up trying to diagnose the issue. One forum member from Australia suggested this and that was the solution

I have a similar issue where I got the drivetrain malfunction/check engine light and the car lost power. I've just replaced coils/plugs about 3K miles prior so I was confident it wasn't that. However, the hesitation/loss of power felt similar. Then the next day when I connected an OBD II scanner, no error codes and then the DTM/CEL went away and the car drove fine... Of course I am not at ease knowing something is brewing without any CEL anymore. |

This has got me thinking.
I've long had occasional symptom where if I came to a 4way stop and barely stopped. Then tried to quickly accelerate there will be noticeable hesitation. No error but acts like I'm not hitting gas briefly. |

As Tony showed on the video, this is an easy DIY. Due to a recent DTM/CEL, I replaced mine since this can be an issue anyway (although mine was ok @ 58,8XX mi.)

Looks like this part is actually available for sale vs buying the entire vacuum pump. And it’s “Not China Valve!” lol

So you guys don't have to go through returning and trying to get a refund on the wrong part, I'd like to clarify the correct one since I've just replaced mine.
See the attached photos. Notice the difference in the shapes of the end where the hose connects. I've marked the incorrect one with an X. The other piece is the actual one off my F85. I initially was sent the wrong one from eBay and after going back and forth, etc. I just ordered the right one from a different seller. Last edited by Bobby_Drake; 01-22-2024 at 02:42 PM.. |

hey y’all, I recently got my 2015 X5M F85 stuck in water/water in engine. A compression test was ran to push out the water by Peake BMW. But test were unsuccessful and engine is locked up. I feel sick to my stomach but I’ll make a comeback.
Please let me know what I should do besides the insurance part. Rebuild? Buy a refurbished engine? buy another X5m? Thanks yall in advance (: |
