Fun in the SNOW for 2015 BMW X5 35i JB3 plus other Luxury SUVs (R63, Q5 3.0t, X3 35i)

Hope you guys like this video I put together for everyone. We had so much fun and we will def be doing this again soon. I'm sure everyone knows about the big storm here in the Northeast, I'm very excited to test out the capabilities of the xdrive. Last year was nothing compared to whats about to happen. I'm running the conti extreme DWS, they have about 60% tread left and I'm positive they will perform as advertised. GOod Luck to everyone that is facing this storm head on....Take Care and please share my video.

Explain? You mean the 2 different x3's. Electronic Golf tee mod is when you unplug the vacuum hose in the left rear of the trunk. Leaving the flaps open at all time no matter what.

Literally takes 30 sec. No pics from me. But if you have a newer model BMW, you open up the compartment on the left and look down about 9" and you see a wire that has a clip. Unplug that and bam the vacuum hose is disabled.

Will try this in the morning before work. So for us it's located in the left pull out storage area

I hate driving in slush vs powder, but definitely looked fun regardless.
Conti DWS?!? No dedicated winter setup?!? Stay safe you East Coasters!!
Case of grass-is-greener... I wish we'd get snow here in the NW. Instead, we got close to 70 degrees this weekend, which is highly unusual.

Golf Tee Mod Full Thread Information: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80661. You will throw a code eventually based on all the random skimming I did in that thread. Given that our F15s are very sensitive to computer changes, I would be careful with this mod everyone. Your dealer will see it. Of course you can feign ignorance, but dealers aren't that stupid when it comes to mods like this that have been around for years. Just my two cents. Tread carefully.

The golf tee mod doesn't work on the F15. 35d and 50i has no flap. While 35i uses electronic controlled flap.
For F15 X5 35i, all you need to do is to remove the spring between the module and the flap, then leave the flap open manually.

On the 35i, you will not get any error message, because the you are still connected to the module.
The only thing is, you will loose the low end, because the ecu will think that the flap is closed while it actually not.
Unlike the MPE, it changes the module into a different one since the MPE doesn't have the flap anymore.

For the x3, zero codes, dealer doesn't care for me. Yes for the f15 it may be different though

For the X3 in the five boroughs of NY, I feel it's not needed, the xdrive is very capable, people don't even realize until they feel it for themselves. Powder is much better I agree. If you look on my YouTube channel, you'll see I have 2 snow vids in the powder, very high definition, and you can hear the blow off valve very clearly because the snow makes it so quiet. 70 deg, damn you lucky, but I don't mind the snow, its only for a few weeks out of the year. Take care bro
